We got our hands on one of the very first tilt-shifts off Rokinon’s assembly line and brought it from New York City to Florida (and back again) over the course of one weekend
Tilt-shift lenses aren’t cheap, so when the official announcement of the $1000 Rokinon 24mm f/3.5 tilt-shift lens came about, many photogphers were very excited. We got one of the first ones to roll off the assembly line and took it for some testing in NYC and Florida.
The images that follow were all shot RAW and converted to JPG’s using Adobe Lightroom 4. Some slight exposure adjustments were made to a few of the images (no more than +or- 2/3rds a stop).
Because the lens has no electrical communication with the camera, aperture information was not recorded in the metadata. That said, the vast majority of the images that follow were shot at f/3.5 (a couple of the ones in bright sunlight may have been at f/4 or f/5.6). Be sure to click the link to view the full-res version of each photo. And stay tuned for our full lab test coming soon.
