One of my specialities is travelling and shooting, in my travels to many cities I find it much easier to use a hotel room as a studio than to find a studio in a strange city. If you pick your hotel carefully you’ll already have a backdrop (the wall to wall curtain at the back of the room), light stands the TV’s cabinet makes a perfect place to set up 2 reflectors and put a RC flash inside for a softbox (wedge them between the top of the cabinet and the ceiling, you’ll need large reflectors). Late last year I had the opportunity to go on a field trip with the Photography Club of the UWI. Not only was it a great time but I also met members of the very vibrant club. I’ll share a few shots from the day with you, particularly of the very beautiful model that I shot at the abandoned North Point Surf Resort in Barbados.
